- Usage & Care
The art of weaving is woven into the soul of the municipality, with Spanish missionaries noting that the industry predates their occupation. From the Bisaya derivative habol (blanket), Hablon means to completely cover something with a piece of cloth. But the Hablon has proven to suit more than just blankets, with many of our apparel items incorporating the weave. In the Spanish period, nearly all the women in Argao worked as weavers. Nowadays, a weaving community led by Nanay Auring makes these weaves, including the slightly thicker variant made with crochet thread and used in apparel items.
Colors may vary slightly from the photo. Material content may also vary depending on the community that wove the fabric.Weave Hablon
