The Abaca Pinangabol is a traditional weave of the Daraghuyan Bukidnon Community, one of the seven tribes of Bukindon. Traditionally used for protective clothing, the Abaca Pinangabol is woven in a vertical loom using abaca fiber that is abundant in their forest. The community uses a combination of both natural and commercial dyes to achieve a variety of vibrant colours. Pinangabol weaves carry with them generations of tradition and spirituality, as women of the Daraghuyan Tribe perform a ritual before beginning their day's work on the loom. The ikat variation of the Pinangabol features two-toned gradients achieved by applying a tie-dye technique. These are often used for clutches, pouches, and other accessories.
Colors may vary slightly from the photo. Material content may also vary depending on the community that wove the fabric.
