  • The art of weaving is woven into the soul of the municipality, with Spanish missionaries noting that the industry predates their occupation. From the Bisaya derivative habol (blanket), Hablon means to completely cover something with a piece of cloth. But the Hablon has proven to suit more than just blankets, with many of our apparel items incorporating the weave. Not to be confused with the Hablon of Iloilo, the people of Argao in Cebu province also have their own version of the weaves. Building on centuries of tradition, the weavers of Argao have mastered the stripe - developing several striped designs that prove that simple is beautiful. The women of Argao also historically use these stripe hablon as skirts and blouses.

Colors may vary slightly from the photo. Material content may also vary depending on the community that wove the fabric.

I love!

I haven't had the time to sew it yet, but I fell in love with the hablon at first sight, touch, and feel. It's very good quality, and it's presko, which I love. Perfect for clothes in our climate. I'm so excited to make something with it. :)
