The weaves of the Yakan Tennun community in Basilan serve as a testament to the ingenuity of the tribe. Woven in a backstrap loom, the weaver usually weaves under their traditional houses made of stilts to protect them from weather conditions. The Yakan Sinaluan pattern of geometric lines is reminiscent to their local bamboo signifying their collective strength as one community.
