This Pinilian weave showcases the masterful skills of the weavers in Santiago, Ilocos Sur with its complex brocade-like weave. Sticks are inserted on the chosen warp embroidered in a traditional vertical loom to achieve an embroidered-like texture and look. Forms found in nature inspire designs for the Pinilian weave and are portrayed as uniformly woven patterns on the fabric. This design shows fully polygonal flowers enclosed in a diamond pattern.
Colors may vary slightly from the photo. Material content may also vary depending on the community that wove the fabric.Weave Pinilian
